Better Than Perfect is a high-performance athletic apparel line born out of the need for athletes to stay cool and comfortable during and after intense physical exertion. A former star athlete at the high-school and collegiate level, founder Samuel Smith was motivated to create this technically-advanced activewear line when his young nephew, who lives in warm Florida, began playing little league football. “I had been reading story after story of young athletes suffering gravely from heat exhaustion while playing organized sports,” Sam remembers. “I wanted to build something that would protect him from this.”
Smith immediately began working to source a material that would help athletes to battle the heat while exercising. He partnered with a factory that helped him develop a state-of-the-art, two-layered fabric that was able to capture moisture and pull it away from the skin while maintaining a low surface temperature. The fabric performed so well that Smith chose to bring to life a curated selection of clean, understated pieces that let the amazing textile speak for itself.
